Conviction: a fixed or firm belief.
Commitment: the act of committing, pledging, or engaging oneself; a pledge or promise; obligation.
Definitely two words that are lacking in our culture today. Unfortunately, these two words are also lacking in the church. Rarely do you find anyone who has conviction and is committed to those convictions. Stephen was a man who had convictions and was committed to those convictions even if it meant he had to die. Read Acts Chapters 6 & 7, and ask God to give you the same convictions and committment that He gave to Stephen and so many others in the early days of the church.
2 Timothy Chapters 3 & 4 talks about how in the last days men will be deceived by false doctrines and teachers. Be careful that you are not deceived and make sure that you have strong convictions based on the Bible and not what someone else has told you to believe. Search the scriptures and know what God says.
